

A native of Galvez and resident of Acy/St. Amant, she passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. She was 89 years old, a retired registered nurse, who served many within the community. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, and a wonderful cook, whose kitchen was always open. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dena Brignac Landry and Bob Landry, of Gonzales, and Candy Brignac-Denny and Jim Denny, of Acy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Anna Frederic Brignac, of St. Amant, and Marion Jr. and Darline Bourgeois Brignac, of Gonzales; two sisters, Gladys Burns Duplessis, of Galvez, and Sarah Delatte, of Sorrento; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Marion Joseph Brignac Sr.; parents, Davise P. and Alonia Heintz Burns; son, Eddie Paul Brignac; daughter Tiffie Brignac Babin; sister, Katherine Jerome; and a brother, Vernon Burns. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Sacred Heart Chapel at the Lake on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Jon Koehler celebrant. Burial will follow in Lake Cemetery.
