OBITUARY
Eunice Mary Sanchez Fairchild
September 2, 1919 – February 18, 2021
Eunice Marie Sanchez Fairchild passed away on February 18, 2021, at the age of 101. Born in McCall, she was a lifelong resident of St. Gabriel and a graduate of St. Gabriel High School. Eunice was a devoted member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church community. She served with the Ladies’ Alter Society and shared her faith and knowledge of Catholic Doctrine by teaching adults and children Catechism. Many young students remember her bright smiles and personal affection while she worked the cafeteria at St Gabriel High School, retiring from the Iberville Parish School System after years of faithful service. Her most cherished work was her family. She took pride in cooking, sewing and offering love and support to those in need. Eunice was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was happiest when she was surrounded by her beloved family. She radiated pure joy and never missed a chance to pronounce her love through her actions and words. She is survived by sisters, Elsie Medine and Ann Hymel; two daughters, Brenda Taillon (Gilbert), and Denise Parker, son, Charles Fairchild, Jr. (Maria); 2 grandchildren, Troy Parker (Lisa), and Chris Parker (Amy); 2 great-grandchildren, Anna and Amelia Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fairchild; parents, Omer and Delia Sanchez; five brothers, Linas, Ulysse, Percy, T.J. and Fred Sanchez; sisters, Ruby Holtrop and Shirley Fremin. Condolences can be made at www.OursoFH.com. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales for their kind, loving care. Due to COVID restrictions, a private burial mass will take place. A Memorial service and celebration of life will be announced at a forthcoming date.
