Evelyn spent her life caring for others in meaningful ways. She noticed what needed to be done and did it—whether feeding someone who was hungry, sewing what needed fixing, cleaning fish, tending the yard, or cooking dinner for everyone. She could often be found riding her lawnmower and mowing multiple yards well into her 80s. Her care extended beyond people to her beloved cats, Fergie and Bobbi, the chickens she once tended, and the birds and squirrels she watched daily.
An outstanding seamstress and amazing cook, Evelyn’s servant heart showed through everyday acts of love. She worked as a waitress and later retired from Ascension Parish Schools as a cafeteria worker at Prairieville Elementary.
Evelyn loved a great joke and kept her wonderful sense of humor even near the end. She will be remembered for her hardworking hands, generous heart, delicious food, quick wit, and the way she made others feel cared for. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter and service.
