He was the first child of Dana Michel and Jonathan Thomas Scott. He was welcomed by parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents who had all eagerly awaited the newest member of our family. We wasted no time sharing our love and affection with Everett, who was a bright, kind, and joyful child. Everett became a big brother to Alden in 2005, and their bond was special. From traveling the world with family, to spending time with shared friends, Everett and Alden shared many experiences, fought, and loved like only two close brothers can.
To know Everett was to love him. Everett had a sense of compassion and charity toward others that was beyond his years and evident to all who met him. He had a healthy confidence, a sense of adventure, and the ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him. Everett had a close circle of friends whom he genuinely loved and spent almost every day with, and a beautiful girlfriend Marisa, whom he loved and dated for 3 years.
Everett was a Louisiana man through-and-through and never wanted to leave the state. He loved spicy food, lots of hot sauce, and crawfish. Everett had an artistic flair and liked to leave his mark everywhere he went. He liked to fish with his friends and loved anything involving mud that would leave him, his truck, his 4-wheeler, or his dirt bike covered in it. This often resulted in late night repair visits to his dad’s house and muddy messes washed off in his mom’s driveway. Those late-night repairs and muddy messes will be missed.
Everett attended St. John Primary and St. Theresa of Avila Catholic School from PK to 7th grade. Everett made many cherished friends and memories at these schools. He attended Catholic High School in Baton Rouge beginning in 8th grade and was a Class of 2020 Alumni. He worked at CMC Corporate Solutions and loved his job and the people with which he worked.
Everett was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Lorraine and George Williams; his paternal grandmother, Carol Ann Scott; and his paternal great-grandparents, Gladys and T.L. “Buddy” Dykes. Everett is survived by his mother, Dana Michel Scott and her husband, Dave Beckwith; his father, Jonathan Scott and his wife, Angie Bennett; his brother Alden Scott; his grandmother, Loretta Booty and her husband, Gordon; his grandfather, Murphy Michel and his wife, Lynn; his uncle, Aaron Michel; his uncle, Jason Scott; his grandfather, W.
