Evert J. Parent

Evert J. Parent passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the age of 92. He was a native and resident of Gonzales, LA. Evert was retired from the Army. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Elva Mae Bercegeay Parent; his sons, Michael Parent (Roxie) and Phillip Parent (Tracy); step-children, Kenny Sutton (Arlene), Paulette Lambert (Louis), Roy Sutton (Charlene), and Darrell Sutton (Kathy); grandchildren, Dr. Cameron Parent, Lt. Daniel Parent (Tess), and Aubrey Parent; 10 step-grandchildren and 18 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Heidi Parent; his parents, Paul and Melodie B. Parent; grandson, Andrew Parent; sisters, Lois Delaune, Earline LeBlanc, Elvera Broussard; and brother, Cleve J. Parent.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with mass beginning promptly at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Prairieville Community Cemetery.
