Fannie Carpenter Montgomery, a native of Washington County, AL and resident of St. Amant passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the age of 78. Fannie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time and caring for her family and friends. She was a compassionate and selfless person who never met a stranger and cared for everyone like they were her family. Fannie was also very involved with New River Baptist Church of St. Amant and touched many lives through her Children's Church Ministry. Fannie is survived by her daughters, Renee Schneider and husband, Butch, Tammy Montgomery; sons, Ken Montgomery, Michael Montgomery and wife, Stacy; sisters, Mary Twinette Langham, Drula Sullivan, Alice Parker; brother, Gordon Carpenter; grandchildren, Christopher Schneider and wife, Ryan, Karli Becnel and husband, Jordan, Alayna Montgomery, Jacob Montgomery; great grandchild, Keaton Schneider. Fannie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Montgomery and Daughter-in-law, Nina Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at New River Baptist Church of St. Amant from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am officiated by Retired Pastor Wayne Tally. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Michael Montgomery, Ken Montgomery, Christopher Schneider, Butch Schneider, Jordan Becnel, and David Veazey will serve as pallbearers. Steve Carpenter and Rachel Eddy will serve as honorary pallbearers.
