

Frances Ann Magnolia Diez, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the age of 83. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who enjoyed spending time and making memories with her family. In her earlier years, she and her husband owned a successful seafood market and restaurant. In 1998, she retired from OSHA as an office administrative assistant. After retirement, Frances enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, and musical theater. Frances is survived by her daughters, Diane Purcell, Sharon Taylor, Doreen Babin; grandchildren, Paula Forest (Jarrett), Richard Babin, Wayne Babin (Elyse), Theresa Taylor Guedry, Robert Taylor III (Lana), Phillip Taylor (Luisa), Kristin Bryant (Dewayne), Misty Vaughn (Stephen); 15 great grandchildren; brother, Steve Magnolia. Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Uton Diez; daughter, Paula Diez; parents, Mary and Sam Magnolia; siblings, Catherine White, Sarah Rose Branstetter, and Joe Magnolia; uncle, Ralph Pasquale. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 9:00 am until funeral service at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory on Hwy 30 in Gonzales. Richard Babin, Wayne Babin, Robert Taylor III, Phillip Taylor, Jeffery Babin, Spencer Crosby, Brennan Guedry, and Hunter Crosby will serve as pallbearers.
