George Edwin Henderson Jr.

George “Buddy” E. Henderson Jr. passed away on July 12, 2026 at the age of 86; born on March 4, 1940, in Gray, Louisiana. George served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a Civil Engineer that worked for the Louisiana Department of Transportation, H.E.Wiese and Jacobs Engineering, he was also a Certified Surveyor. He finished his career at Exxon Mobile in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. George was a devoted husband, father and friend who loved fishing, gardening, working on complex mechanical projects, and in his younger days, he loved getting into trouble flying his ultralight. He would often sit on his back patio and share in light conversation with family and friends. He loved adventure. Sailing, boating, flying, and traveling the US – he loved it all.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George (Kathy) Henderson of Prairieville, LA and his daughter and son-in-law, Gina (Chris) McGath of Olive Branch, MS; three grandchildren, Logan McGath, Nicole Henderson and Brianna McGath.

He is preceded in death by his parents George Henderson Sr. and Mable “Mae” Daigle Henderson, His loving wife, Virginia “Ginger” Guzzardo Henderson and his brother Charles Henderson.

Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737, on July 20, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the service at Ourso Funeral Home at 12:00 pm.

Burial will take place at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, 37577 Duplessis Rd., Prairieville, LA, on July 20, 2026
