Geraldine "Jerry" K. Ouber

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Geraldine “Jerry” Vampran Ouber died on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Landmark Nursing Center of Hammond. She lived 90 wonderful years. She was born in Maurepas on November 13, 1933 to the late Lee and Louise Vampran. Geraldine had one brother, the late Michael Lee Vampran. In 1953, Geraldine married the love of her life Baulty Ouber, they were married for 70 years until his death in 2023. Geraldine was the heart of her home and family. She and B.B. had and raised four children together, Barry (Janeen) Ouber, Everett (Janet) Ouber, Angela Ouber Dutel, and Richard Ouber. As a grandmother to Brandi Ouber-Alphonso, Kerri LaRose, Colton McIntosh, and Louis Dutel and step grandmother to Devon and Jacque Dutel and Dillon and Sarah Tarrow, she was interested in every aspect of their lives and cherished every moment she spent with them. She also lived to see three beautiful great grandsons, Emmett and Elijah Alphonso and Zachariah LaRose. Geraldine was baptized and welcomed into the St. Mary/St. Stephens Catholic Church in 1934, where she remained an active member for her life of 90 years. She was a charter member of the St. Mary’s Alter Society. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 22505 Hwy 22 in Maurepas from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Rite of Committal will follow at Maurepas Community Cemetery. Father Taylor Sanford will officiate all services. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Jack Alphonso, Louis G. Dutel IV, Jacque Dutel, Randy Farrell, Dillion Tarrow, and Lee Vampran.
