
A resident of Gonzales, he died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011. He was 81 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Cajun Cadillac Cookers. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 23, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, beginning at 8 a.m. The Rev. Gary Belsome will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Cornerview Cemetery, Gonzales. He is survived by his wife of more than 39 years, Bonnie Lamendola; three daughters, Cathy Lamendola, Cherie Bennett, and Gay Bankston and husband Fred; stepdaughter, Candy Brazzel and husband Kenneth; son, Luther "Lou" Lamendola and wife Rhonda; stepson, Shane Bercegeay and wife Michelle; brother, Nolan "Sonny" Lamendola; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Eva Lamendola; son, Glenn "Vin" Lamendola Jr.; sister, Ruby Ann Firestone; and brother, Anthony "Tony" Lamendola.
