Gregory Manuel Sr.

Gregory “Greg” Manuel Sr. passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, in Baton Rouge. A native of Kinder. and a resident of Prairieville, he was 49 and a sign crafter for Jones Signs LLC. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, on Sunday, Jan. 30, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Sylvester Minj. Graveside services will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Elton at 2 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Shelly Snyder Manuel, of Prairieville; a daughter and son-in-law, Trista and Bryan Miller, of Dutchtown; three sons, Gregory Manuel Jr. and fiancée Ashley Roddy, of Denham Springs, Johnathan Manuel and David Manuel, both of Prairieville; three sisters, Catherine Fontenot, of Ragley, Monica Benoit, of Lake Charles and Jennifer Hyatt, of West Lake; three brothers, Richard, Dwyn and Troy Manuel, all of Lake Charles; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isom and Mercendes Marie Fontenot Manuel. Pallbearers will be Gregory, Johnathan and David Manuel, Richard and Troy Manuel and Eddie Ortego.
