Gretchen had a special love for flowers and plants and truly had a green thumb. As a licensed florist, she had a natural talent for creating beauty and bringing life to everything she touched. She could grow just about anything, and her love of gardening reflected the care, warmth, and kindness she shared with those around her.
Gretchen was also a lover of rock music, especially the music of the 1980s. She enjoyed attending concerts and sharing in the excitement of live music. Whether tending to her beloved flowers, enjoying her favorite songs, or spending time with friends, Gretchen found joy in the things she loved most.
A true people person, Gretchen seemed to know everyone and was blessed with many friends. She had a special way of connecting with others and leaving a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know her. Her faithful furry friend and companion, her dog Emily, also held a special place in her heart and brought her much love and companionship.
Gretchen is survived by her father, Harold J. Blanchard; her sister, Rhonda Jenschke Bodnar (Al); her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Errol “Yootie” Tullier; her aunts and uncles, Florence McCaskey; Larry Downey; Prudence “Prudy” Berkoben; Barbara Jenschke Baker; Bill Horn; Don Craighead; Kermit LeBlanc; her faithful furry friend and companion, Emily; and numerous cousins and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Todd Tullier; her mother, Jean Berkoben Blanchard; her father, Sgt. First Class Larry James Jenschke; her infant brothers, Eugene and Michael; her grandparents, Eugene and Ida Belle Keibler Berkoben, Lawrence and Della Jenschke, and Zannie and Elvina Blanchard; as well as Aunt Elaine, Aunt Alberta, Uncle Walter, Aunt Janelle, Uncle Harry, and Aunt Jackie.
Gretchen’s life was filled with love, friendships, music, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, in the flowers and plants she so lovingly grew, in the music she enjoyed, and in the many lives she touched along the way. The beauty she created, the friendships she treasured, and the love she shared will never be forgotten.
Services for Gretchen will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Gretchen will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Galvez Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
May she rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and dearly loved.
