Grover "Bit" Wiley Bridges

Grover Wiley "Bit" Bridges passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Baker, LA and a longtime resident of Greensburg, LA. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Martha Fisher Bridges; his children, Jodi Bridges Townley (Ronald “Ron” Townley Jr.), Joseph Bridges (Ashley Poe Bridges), Janette Bridges Baudoin, Todd Taylor (Crystal Norman Taylor) and Eric Smith (Loie Abbott Smith); 23 Grandchildren and 34 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Emma Jane Bridges Tidwell and Paul Leslie Bridges and his sister-in-Law, Dorothy Nan Rhodes Bridges. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Mae Dorman Bridges and Oreilly Kelly Bridges; his brother, Kelly Jackson Bridges; his brother-in-law, Larry Dale Tidwell and 1 Grandchild and 2 Great-grandchildren.

Wiley was a hardworking man, retired from Formosa Plastics after many years of dedicated work. He loved going deer hunting and planting food plots for the grandchildren to hunt. He also enjoyed a nice day out on the water fishing, especially at Lake Mary Crawford. Wiley was a man of faith and family. Above all he loved spending time with his family.

Wiley was known for his green thumb. His massive gardens and food plots supply everyone with fruits and vegetables. Wiley’s dream was to have a fruit orchard for future generations. The family is asking In lieu of flowers to send a fruit tree to carry on his legacy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at 5 pm at Grangeville Baptist Church 3599 La 63 Pine Grove, LA. After the service, the family invites everyone to join them for a Life Celebration at his residence, 4967 Hwy 37 Greensburg, LA.
