

Harold J. Anderson, Jr., 80, a native of Whitehall and resident of Galvez, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at his home. “Baby Harold” also known as “Hap” served in the United States Marine Corps and retired from BASF. Harold was an avid outdoorsman and learned to hunt and fish at a very early age from the best, his late father. Harold loved Grand Isle and lived there with his wife for 25 years. After hanging up his rod, reel, and gun, he loved watching birds and wildlife in their natural habitat. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lynette Kelley Anderson; children, Duane A. Anderson (Tina), Darla A. Nickens (Darrin), and Therese Ramirez Alexander (Jeff); grandchildren, Jade Anderson Janosco, Dyllin A. Nickens, Dayvis G. Nickens, Ashton N. Bassham, and John Mark Ramirez III; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Lee A. Anderson (Renee) and children, Madison and Chloe Anderson; mother-in-law, Doris P. Kelley; brother-in-law, Eric Kelley (Becky); sister-in-law, Dara K. Gautreau (Gary); godchild, Neil Bourgeois; exceptional niece, Melanie Foster (Brian); special, caring nephew, Joshua Holton; and an abundance of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold J. Anderson Sr. and Shirley Hoover Anderson; sister, Janet A. Bourgeois; father-in-law, Hardy "HJ" Kelley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Tina Kelley Davis.
