

GONZALES-A Native of Galvez and a resident of Prairieville, Harry Clifton “Clif” Nickens passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the age of 68. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow immediately at Oak Lane Memorial Park.
He is survived by his children, Monica R. Nickens and Aaron D. Nickens; Brenda Johnson, spouse of 28 years and mother of his children; grandchildren, Demi Renee Delaune, Mackenzie Aaron Nickens, Mason Clifton Nickens; brothers and sisters-in-law; Tommy and Corrine Nickens, Dicky and Barbara Nickens; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Nickens, Pat Nickens, Elaine and Tony Ruiz, Marvis Nickens, Marjory Nickens, Maggie Nickens and Loretta Nickens; half-brothers and half-sisters, Leslie, Carol, Agnes and Joan Nickens and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father, Lee Nickens; mother, Mary McCrory; brother, Ronald C. Nickens and his wife, Anna.
Pallbearers will be Joe Brignac, Tony Ruiz, Dean Ruiz, Jimmy Bordelon, Hal Delaune, Ronnie Nickens and Micah Nickens.
Clif was employed by Harmony Construction prior to beginning his lifelong love of entertainment. His numerous awards for services to the community are too many to list. He has two days that are recognized as “Clif Nickens” day. He donated his time and talent to help, entertain and spread happiness throughout our community.
