A resident of Prairieville, she passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at age 101. Mrs. Hattie was an active member of Broussard Grove Baptist Church and played the piano in church since the age of 10. She was born and lived her entire life on her family property in Prairieville. A graveside service will be held at Prairieville Community Cemetery on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. She is survived by her son, Calby V. James Jr. and his wife, Aljo; daughter, Billie J. Delaune; daughter-in-law, Pat James; five grandchildren, Teri James Casso, Beth James, Jamie James, Laurie James Ricchiuti and Ed DeLaune; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Calby V. James Sr.; parents, Barney Duplessis Broussard and Hester Martin Heath Broussard; son, Laddie L. James; grandson, Michael Laddie James; and son-in-law, Edward A Delaune. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Broussard Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 39258 La. 42, Prairieville, LA 70769.
