

A native of Geismar and resident of St. Amant, Hazel Glenn Babin passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the age of 58. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert L. Babin; daughter and son-in-law, Mackenzie and Thomas Waguespack; son and daughter-in-law, Thor and Nikki Babin; grandchildren, Brockton Waguespack, Ryder and Reese Babin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethel and Carey Valet, Ora and Blaine Melancon; and her nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Henry A. and Lena Kling Glenn; and brother, Patrick Glenn. For those of you that knew Hazel Babin, you knew she was truly a loving, caring person. She had a smile that would light up any room. She had a way of making others smile at the same time. She was the Rock for her family and the glue that held everything together. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Friday, January 30, 2015 from 9:30 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with Rev. Jerry Martin, celebrant. Following, entombment will be in Hope Haven Mausoleum in Prairieville. Following entombment, a reception will be held at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales through 3:00 pm.
