Helen Rita Gautreau

Helen Rita Gautreau, a native and resident of Gonzales, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 at the age of 97. She was a mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Ladies Altar Society. She most enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth J. Gautreau and Terry P. Gautreau; sister, Shirley Arceneaux Moore; brother, Virgil Arceneaux; four grandchildren, Jaime Gautreau (Cindy), Kristie Balsantz (Todd), Jodie Gautreau Sullivan (Jeff) and Cassie Gautreau Sanchez (Scott); eight great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Victor Arceneaux; her loving husband, Winthorpe J. Gautreau; brother, Wilton Arceneaux; and four sisters, Gladys Arceneaux, Myrtle Louvier, Ruth Arceneaux Sheets and Mildred Tanner.
