Herbert "Richard" Rothwell Jr.

Herbert “Richard” Rothwell Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the age of 43. Richard fought a long hard fight with his battle with cancer but he is now free from that hardship. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Cheye Hebert Rothwell and their two daughters Leighton Rothwell and Shelbi Rothwell. He is also survived by his parents Herbert Richard Rothwell Sr. and Carolyn Patterson Rothwell; his sisters, Sally Rothwell (Trepp Nagel), Kimberly Rothwell Schofield (Michael) and Alice Rothwell Fleming (Matthew) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and family members.

As a graduate from LSU, he was a true fan of all LSU sports. Richard was an outdoorsman, he could often be found in the deer stand, with a fishing pole in his hand or playing a round of golf with his friends. He always enjoyed his trips back to the family farm in Arkansas, it was his happy place. But his favorite past time was spending time with his family and friends. He loved being a father to his two little girls and a devoted husband to his wife. Family was such a huge part of him. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737, followed by a Celebration of Richard's life at 4:00 PM.
