A beloved wife, loving mother and grandmother, she passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 85. She was a homemaker and resident of Gonzales. She was born January 5, 1925 in Tokyo, Japan. Visiting will be at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Monday, July 19 from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am, Rev. Rubin Reynolds officiating. Burial to follow in Prairieville Community Cemetery. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Evert J. Parent; two sons, Michael Parent and his wife Roxie of Gonzales, and Phillip Parent and Gretchen of Fayetteville, Arkansas; granddaughter, Aubrey Parent; grandsons, Cameron and Daniel Parent; and a brother in law, Cleve Parent and his wife, May. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ichjiro and Tora Ikuta and a grandson, Andrew Parent.
