H.J. "Tookie" Tullier

H. J. “Tookie” Tullier gained his wings on Tuesday, Dec 6, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Slidell, La. He was 84 years old and lived a good life. His love for the outdoors could not be measured. No one has fished, hunted or danced more than him and boy was he great at all three! He grew up in Sorrento and was a graduate of St. Amant High School where he earned the title of “All State Football Player”. After high school he served in the United States Army for 3 years. Tookie is survived by his loving companion of 11 years, Sylvia Bergeron; first wife, Aylene Guitreau Small; children, Debra Tullier Delatte (David), Michelle Tullier Gascon, and Marshall Budd (Jessie); brothers, J.R. Tullier (Vernell), and Huey Tullier; 7 grandchildren, Colby Nelson, Sydney Gascon, Dayne and Deryn Delatte, Marshall Jr., Jaxon, and Amelia Budd; He was preceded in death by wife, Ruby Johnson Castjohn Tullier; parents, Pamela and John Ray Tullier, Sr.; brothers, Bruce, Clyde and Nolan Tullier; and sisters, Jeanette Moran and baby Geneva Tullier. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Services for Tookie will be held on Monday, Dec 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 15710 Hwy 16, French Settlement, LA. Visitation will be from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Carrying him to be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Church Mausoleum will be Colby Nelson, Marshall Budd, Shane Jr., and Brandon Castjohn, Dayne and Deryn Delatte.
