

Howard Mid Bennett, age 69, a native of Long Beach, California, and a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away on May 28, 2025. A proud U.S. Navy veteran and a dedicated residential construction worker, Howard was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. His life was marked by service—to his country, to his community, and most importantly, to his family. Howard had a lifelong passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was an active member of multiple motorcycle clubs over the years. Whether riding cross-country or gathering with fellow enthusiasts, the open road was one of his greatest joys and sources of freedom. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul O. Bennett I; his mother, Arlina "Evelyn" Pevey Bennett his brother, Paul O. Bennett II; his nephew, Brian S. Huguet Sr; as well as his niece, Tracie Bush Huguet-Kitchen. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane C. Bennett; his daughters, Madeline J. Bennett and Evelyn B. Brown; his sister, Cheryl L. Bennett; nephews, Gregory P. Bush and Maurice A. Kitchen; great-nieces, Courtney L. Bush and Jessica B. Campbell; great-nephews, Dakota Kitchen, Presley Kitchen, Brian S. Huguet Jr, and Jack Bush. He is also remembered fondly by his long-time friend, Mickey Stafford, whose steadfast friendship was a meaningful presence throughout Howard’s life. In addition to those named, Howard is survived by numerous other loving family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply. At this time, no services are scheduled. Howard’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
