Hubert William James

Hubert "Q-Ball" James age 78, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017. He is survived by his wife Catherine Babin James; One son and daughter-in-law Tracy W. James(Beverly); Daughters and son-in-law Melissa Marchand, Micha Dupuy(Chad) ; 6 grandchildren, Brandi Harrell, Ryan Melancon, Jessica Robertson, James Bruno, Mckae and Kyler Dupuy, and 3 great-grandchild, Karsyn and Paisley Melancon, Canyon Robertson ; sister, Sadie Mire and brother Gerald James. He is preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Velda James; son Micheal Troy James, 2 sisters, Lois Bourque and Shirley Richard and one brother Joseph Emmett James, Jr. He was a member of Ironworker Local Union #623 for 42 years. He was an avid deer hunter and sportsman. He enjoyed cooking was a hard worker but also enjoyed vacationing with his wife Catherine of 58 years. He was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Marks Catholic Church, Gonzales. Friends may begin visiting at 9:00 am. Burial will be held at Prairieville Community Cemetery immediately following the service. Pallbearers include: Paul Dubroc, Steve Burns, Chad Dupuy, James Bruno, Ryan Melancon and Jerry Harrell. Honorary Pallbearers include: C.J. Burns, J.C. Sanchez, Wilford Bercegay, Kent Gravette, Buren Babin and Johnny Babin.
