Ira Fruge

Ira Fruge passed away November 17, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born in Jennings on March 25, 1926 and resided in Gonzales. Ira was a World War II Army veteran, loved family, his dogs, being outdoors, cutting his grass and woodworking. He was a very giving man who was highly respected and who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his four daughter, Suzette Fruge, Brenda Fruge, Tina Stallard, Peggy Bourque (Jacques); son, David Fruge (Tammy); 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father Murphy Fruge; mother Feliciana Ewing Fruge; step-mother Alite Broussard Fruge; brothers, Gilbert Fruge and Edward Fruge; sister, Rena Sedotal; wife, Gloria Bruno Fruge and granddaughter, Alicia Blomberg. Pallbearers will be Devon Bourque, Dylan Gaudet, Chris May, Eric Stallard, John Gaudet and Brandon Ruiz. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway in Gonzales from 5PM – 9PM. On Monday, November 21, 2016 visitation will be from 9AM until service at 10:30AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, celebrant Fr. Jerry Martin.
