

Irene Juso Rodrigue, age 87, of White Castle, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, the Lord’s day. She was born in Terraville, South Dakota on September 7, 1938, to the late Edwin and Elizabeth Juso. Irene graduated from Lead High School in South Dakota. Irene was united in marriage to Louis Joseph Rodrigue, and together they shared 50 years of love and devotion, before his passing in 2009. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Irene cherished her family deeply. She especially enjoyed playing piano, cross-stitching, watching her children and grandchildren play sports, singing in the choir, cooking and aerobics. She was a woman of strong faith and moral values, encouraging her children to always be excellent in spirit, honest, hardworking and just. She loved to gather her family for meals and holidays. Her warmth and creativity touched everyone she knew.
She is survived by her children Laurene (Mike) Lecoq, Angie (Mason) Druhan, Lynn (Nicole) Rodrigue, Rodney Rodrigue, Michael (Heidi) Rodrigue and daughter-in-law, Gail Rodrigue. She leaves behind 17 beloved grandchildren — Kyle, Kendall, Morgan, Rachel, Jacob, McKenzie, Joseph, Caroline, Micah, Mallory, Madelyn, Hannah, Jared, Connor, Michael, Nathan, and Gabrielle — and 12 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Corrine and Eileen.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Louis Joseph Rodrigue, her son Steven Louis Rodrigue (Joe Willie), her grandson John Louis Rodrigue, her parents Edwin and Elizabeth Juso and her brothers Edwin and Johnny Juso.
The family invites relatives and friends to come celebrate and remember the life of Irene, a woman whose kindness, love, and faith continue to inspire everyone who knew her. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of White Castle on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10:00am til noon. Funeral services will begin at noon, followed by internment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.
