Irma Theresa Savoy Stafford

A native of Lake and resident of Gonzales, she passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 15, 2013. She was 82 years old and a retired cafeteria manager for the Ascension Parish School Board.

She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Sherry and Bobby Gonzales, Clark and Judy Stafford, Wayne and Kathy Stafford, Donna and Joey Stanga, Lisa Gregoire and Michael Kleinpeter, Robert Stafford and Diane Templet, and Gary and Lynell Lambert; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris Cannon and Maynell and Lynwood Abbott; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnel and Peggy Savoy, Kerney and Diane Savoy, and Roy and Brenda Savoy; 16 grandchildren, Jason Gonzales, Christy Lawrence, Chaney Gonzales, Candice Segura, Nathan Stafford, Ashley Landry, Waylon Stafford, Clinton Stafford, Macky Stafford, Micah Stafford, April Steely, Jennifer Acaldo, Devin Gregoire, Justin Stafford, Gabriel Paige, and Tasha Hood; and 28 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Stafford; parents, Harry and Maylena Villar Savoy; and three brothers, Harry Louis, Rowan, and Curtis “Bill” Savoy.

A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Burial will follow in Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason and Chaney Gonzales, and Nathan, Waylon, Clinton, and Justin Stafford. Honorary pallbearer will be Devin Gregoire.
