Isaac “Ike” N. Carpenter, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the age of 76. He was a resident of Prairieville, LA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was retired after 33 years from the Louisiana Department of Transportation. He was the founder of Ike’s Fix It Shop in Prairieville. He is survived by his beloved wife Irene Dupont Carpenter of 48 years; children, Isaac K. Carpenter, Sr. (Cora), Leann Dempster (Troy), John Carpenter (Breanna); grandchildren, Isaac K. Carpenter, Jr. (Karen), Cody Carpenter (Bonnie), Cade Dempster, Cain Dempster; great-grandson, Archer Carpenter; and numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Claire Hamilton. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac N. Carpenter, Sr. and Claire B. Carpenter and brother, David Carpenter. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA 70737 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 Hwy 73. Prairieville, LA 70769, visitation will take place prior to mass from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Isaac and Cody Carpenter, Cade and Cain Dempster, Brian Ducote, and Will Morrison.
