Jackson Pixley, 19, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Geismar, Louisiana. He was Born on June 8, 2006, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on his parents’ fourth wedding anniversary. Jackson brought light and energy into the world from the very beginning and was, as Cindy and Chris put it, "The greatest anniversary gift we could ever ask for." A graduate of The Dunham School, Jackson was continuing his academic journey at Louisiana State University, where he was an active member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, a group of brothers with an unbreakable bond. His time at both institutions reflected his dedication to growth and his passion for learning. Beyond academics, Jackson was known for his optimistic attitude and free spirit—qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Jackson had a deep love for sports and physical activity. He enjoyed working out, playing golf, and he found joy in coaching baseball—sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with the 12U Louisiana Leopard Dawgs. Most recently, he had taken up boxing and was actively training to compete in his first ever amateur match. Jackson’s commitment to personal development extended beyond athletics, as he was admired for his incredible leadership, kind heart, fierce loyalty, witty sense of humor, and ability to inspire those around him. He is lovingly remembered by his mother Cindy Pixley; father Chris Pixley; brother Dylan Pixley; sister Faith Pixley; and great-grandmother Patsy Joy Handley Abbott. Jackson also leaves behind a close-knit extended family who cherished him deeply: aunts and uncles, Jason and Marsha Wills, Kyle and Sabrina Muse, Jody and Melinda Bruscato, Jonathan and Donna Pixley and aunt Callie Michael; cousins Austin Elkins, Hannah and Caylin Pixley, John Paul Bruscato, Lauren McMurray, Lindsay Logan and Ashley Rovira; along with numerous other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by his vibrant presence. Jackson now joins those who preceded him in passing: his paternal grandmother Millie Joe Chapman Pixley; maternal grandparents David and Renee' Gassie; and maternal great-grandfather James "Slim" Abbott. Jackson was a bright and shining light in every room he walked into and his light will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort to those who loved him. A Visitation will be held at Healing Place Church Annex, 19202 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, on August 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Delta Chi LSU at https://deltachilsu.causevox.com or the American Heart Association.
