

A native of Blount County Alabama and resident of Gonzales, he passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. A graduate of Susan Moore High School, in Susan Moore, Alabama, he attended college at Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama. He was 67 and an avid Alabama fan that additionally enjoyed watching LSU after moving to Gonzales in the spring of ’82. He spent most of his career as the Insulation Superintendent for Uniroyal Chemical, and enjoyed spending his free time fishing with friends and cooking for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Cheryl Brooks Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Jackson and Joe A. Hendrix; daughter and son-in-law, Amy Jackson and Larry W. Leblanc; the joy of his life, his grandchildren, Jordan, Jackson, Kennedy, and Kullen Hendrix; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael D. and Brenda S. Jackson; and his mother-in-law, Ophelia Plemons Brooks. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, James Malton and Rogene Wright Jackson, and his father-in-law, Elmer K. Brooks. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on July 1, 2011 from 5:30 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will resume at Ourso Funeral Home on July 2, 2011 from 9 am until 9:45.
