James J. Pace

Born May 6, 1938

James J. “Jimmy” Pace, a native of Memphis, TN and resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 79. Jimmy was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching the Saints and LSU play. He also liked to dance, sing karaoke, and spend time with his family and friends. Jimmy belonged to the American Legion and Parrot Head Club in Destin, FL. He retired from Jefferson Parish Waterworks. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sondra Cullen Pace; children, Cindy Tuck and husband, Barry, Connie Pace, James "Ray" Pace and wife, Kristen, David Pace, Steven Pace, Robert Pace and wife, Sandra; stepchildren, Susan Ledet and husband, Donald, Angela Bacon and husband Jim, Mona Lisa Barnett and husband, C.B.; grandchildren, Joshua Toups and wife, Robyn, Jodie Lynn Buras, Shane Buras, Rosa Pace, David Pace Jr., Logan Pace; great grandchildren, Joshua Toups Jr., Angelina "Luna" Stutsman, Vincent Lee "Vinny" Von Aderholt; sisters, Linda Kay Hart and husband, Ron and Carol Ann Schrimsher and husband Jerry; brother, Carl Bunn and wife Vicky; brother-in-law, Louis Pfluger; sister-in-law, Grace Michel Cantrell and husband Nelson II and Rita Bunn. Jimmy is preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Michel Pace; parents, James Orbit Pace and Thelma Pace Bunn and stepfather, Paul Bunn; sister, Mary Kathryn Pfluger; brother, Paul "Butch" Bunn; brother-in-law, Carlo Michel and wife Dianne. Arrangements are still pending with Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and staff of Our Lady of the Lake, Baton Rouge General, and St. Elizabeth Hospital for their compassion and care.
