James Huey Tullier

James Huey Tullier, 83, a native of Sorrento, LA and a resident of Maurepas, LA, died on Sunday, February 19, 2023. He retired from Ascension Parish after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his time hunting. He loved to dance, and for those who knew him would tell you he never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Ray Tullier Sr., and Pamela Villenurve Tullier; brothers, Bruce, Clyde, Nolan, and H.J. “Tookie”; sisters, Jeanette Moran, and baby sister, Geneva Tullier; and his special friend and long term companion, Millissie Marson. He is survived by his children, Rhonda (Robert “Beve”) K. Boatner, James “Mike” M. Tullier, Kenneth “Kenny” F. Tullier, and Julie (David) A. Carmichael; brother, J.R. (Vernell) Tullier Jr.; grandchildren, Blaine Boatner, Drew (Jessica) Boatner, Callie Boatner, Jude Tullier, Darbie Tullier, Brittany (Zach) Zimmer, Hannah (Patrick) Woods, David Carmichael, Alice “Ali” Rose Carmichael, and Genevieve “Gene” Carmichael; great grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Boatner, Zoe, Luke, and Nora Zimmer, Riley and Lydia Woods; and his special nieces, Darlene Taranto, Pam Melancon, and Cindy Pendarvis (Godchild), who cared for him. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA-429, St. Amant, LA, on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 9am-11am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at Faithful United Methodist Church Cemetery 14253 LA-431, St. Amant, LA.
