

A native of Baton Rouge and resident of St. Amant, Janet passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Evans Charles Bernadas; parents, Wilma B. and Emile Medine Jr.; mother-in-law, Joy Bernadas LeBlanc; son, Jeremy Levert Bernadas; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda M. Medine, Debra Dickens and the late Maurice, Kathey Tilghman and husband Charles Ray; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Chris Medine and wife Dominica and Johnny Medine; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Evans, Brielle, Lathan, Maddox and Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Levert Bernadas. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday, July 27 from 3 pm to 9 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, Rev. Jon Koehler officiating. Burial to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jered Ramsey, Cody Broussard, Jesse Medine, Justin Griffin, Bryan Kernan and Jeremy Evans Bernadas. Janet was hired by BASF in 1981 as an inspector in the Maintenance Department. She later assumed the position of trainer in the Logistics Department. She then moved to her current position in learning and development as a training coordinator. She was a dedicated and valued employee and leader at BASF. Janet Served on the Board of Directors of the WYMAR Federal Credit Union since 1994. She served as the chairperson for the board from 2002 until now. Her dedication and leadership to the WYMAR FCU will be missed by the employees, volunteers and members who know her.
