Janice Norman Brandon was born on August 31, 1961 in Farmington, New Mexico to Edgar Norman, Jr. and Dorothy Mae Howard. She graduated from East Ascension High School in 1979 and continued her education at Camelot College. Janice knew the value of dedication, hard work, and consistency. She retired from Louisiana State Police with 23 years of devoted and committed service. Her passion was loving and helping others. You could not leave her home without a great meal. She enjoyed, most of all, time with her family and friends. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Janice during her 59 years with us: "Never throw away old pantyhose. Use the old ones to child-proof cabinets, and make head wraps. Nothing is old, it just serves a different purpose." Kaye knew she could not learn how to be a good mother from reading books. As a mother, she strived to be a protector and provider. She cared for, disciplined, taught, raised, guided and nurtured her children. Janice tried with her soul to bring happiness and peace into her kids lives. She taught her children how to treat and think about others. Respect, Please, Thank you, and yes ma'am were foundations that she instilled in them. Her children were her pride and joy.
Janice modeled loving the Lord. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She sang her heart out in the choir. She served as a greeter on the hospitality team under the leadership of Dr. Lawrence B. Hardy of House of Judah.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 3 children; Shaquisha Norman Holley (Jermaine), Harrison Stewart III (Nikita) and Rolondo Durrell Stewart; 3 grandchildren, Chira Mykelle Glass, Aubrey Kai Stewart, and Nova Jade Stewart; 6 bonus grandchildren; Jaionta J Holley, Anyia A. Holley, Marque J Holley, Gabriel C. White, Jermaine Holley, Jr., and Amia M Gasper; her father, Edgar Norman, Jr., (Carol); 2 siblings, Ronald Elbert Norman, Cassandra Marie King (Todd); nieces and nephews, Quisha Morris, Todd King, Jr. DeMarcus Carline, Keith Carline, Latasha Davis, Alycia Gibbs, and Elliot Gibbs; 1 godchild, Germany Barton, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Mae Norman; grandparents, Edgar Norman, Sr., Hester Lou Williams, Albert Howard and Rena Marcelle; sister-in-law, Valerie Norman.
