

Jeanette Decoteau Guedry, born April 3, 1938, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022, at the age of 84. She was a lifelong resident of Gonzales and a devout Catholic as a member of both St. Theresa and St. Mark church. She enjoyed playing boo-ray and Phase 10 card games with relatives and friends, going to lunch with her high school classmates, and spending time and holidays with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Byron Decoteau (Debbie), sister in laws Joann Decoteau and Madeline Decoteau. Sons Michael Guedry (Leslie), Lee Guedry (Rachelle), and daughter Greer Gautreau. Grand children Brook Girouard, Stevie Gautreau, Jake Guedry, and Jacqueline Moinot. Great grandchildren Jax, Tristan, Lenox, Jaelynne, Jayden, and 15 nieces and nephews and her son-in-law Chris Webre. She is preceded in death by her daughters Dana Hurd and Jan Webre, her parents Lee and Edna Decoteau, brothers Raynold (Squirrel) Decoteau and Manuel Decoteau, sisters Diana Dubois and Myrna Rouillier, brother in laws Julius Dubois and Louis Rouillier, and nephew Lyle Decoteau. Pallbearers will be Jake Guedry, Chad Decoteau, Tyler Dubois, Byron Decoteau, Jr., Jeff Rouillier, and DJ Moinot. The family would like to thank Byron and Debbie Decoteau, Tandy Dubois, and Pam Beachler, for their support and love during this most difficult time. A special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Carpenter House Hospice for the care and comfort provided to mom during her last days. Visitation will take place at St. Mark’s Church on Saturday May 7, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am until services at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at St. Theresa Cemetery.
