Jeffery "Jeff" D. Averett

Jeffery Dale “Bodean” Averett passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021. He was 52 years old and a resident of Colyell. Jeff never met a stranger and through his love of hunting had friends which extended far beyond Louisiana. Visitation will be at Colyell Baptist Church, on Thursday, June 10th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday, June 11th, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. conducted by Brother Jeremy Glascock. Interment in Colyell Baptist Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Tricia Andrews Averett; daughter, Madison Caroline Averett; mother, Delma Watts Averett; sister, Janet (Lonnie) Keller; mother-in-law, Judith Andrews; father-in-law, Henry (Jacki) Andrews; brothers-in-law, Charles (Teresa) Andrews, Micah (Stacy) Andrews; sister-in-law, Megan (Jeff) Oleson; nieces and nephews, Amber (Dustin) Allement, Blake (Trina) Keller, Chas, Cameron, Cate, Ethan, and Gavin Andrews; great nieces and nephews – Bentley and Bailey Allement, Easton, Evan, and Emmy Keller; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The truly special friendships Jeff shared were a huge part of his life, including the one with “brother” Aaron Wheat. He is preceded in death by his father, L.C. “Hock” Averett; sister, Melinda Faye Averett; grandparents, Clinton Sr and Etta Averett, Ike and Ida Watts. Pallbearers will be Dustin Allement, Micah Andrews, Clint Ardoin, Matt Fussell, Blake Keller, Brent Watts, Hunter Wheat, Mason Wheat.
