Jeffery Alan Ray, 72, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and native of Fayetteville, AR, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024. Born in Fayetteville, Jeffery graduated from the University of Arkansas before embarking on a distinguished career as a Senior Instrumentation Engineer at ExxonMobil Offshore Division. Known for his expertise and dedication, Jeffery made significant contributions to his field over the years. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jeffery was an avid golfer who found joy in the camaraderie of the sport and cherished his friendships. He was a friend of Bill W. for 38 years. Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Ray and Audrey L. Peters Ray, as well as by his In-Laws, Guy and Gloria Settoon; Raymond and Theresa Settoon, and Patricia and Nathan Settoon, Evelyn Fay Daigle, and Ray Wilson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Ann Settoon Ray; his daughter, Catherine Thomas; sister, Roni Redwine; and brother, Thomas Ray; sister-in-laws, Ramona (David) Himel, Charline Wilson; brother-in-law, Douglas A Daigle; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jeffery's life at the visitation, which will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Grace Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 630 Richland Ave., Baton Rouge, LA. A Celebration of Life will commence at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Services of Greater Baton Rouge or to AA or Al-Anon groups, in honor of Jeffery's passion for helping others. The family would like to give a special thanks to Our Home for Respite, Sun Rise Assisted Living on Jefferson Hwy, and special friends, Ken A., Mike G., and Bob R.
