

Jesse Tom Peurifoy, 95, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, February 10, 2014. He was born October 11, 1918 to Elbert Adolphus Peurifoy and Leona Bounds Peurifoy in Wortham, Texas. He proudly served in World War II in the Army Ground Unit and later in the Air Force Reserves. He graduated from Southern Methodist University and was a member of the marching band and Alpha Tau Omega. In 1978 he opened AAA Lock, Safe and Alarm in Beaumont, Texas. He retired to Bradenton, Fla. until his move to Gonzales in 2003. He was dearly loved and he cherished every moment with his family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Penny P. Diez and her husband Chester Diez Jr. of Gonzales, three sons Dr. Tom Peurifoy Jr. of Troy Alabama, Brian C. Peurifoy and his wife Patricia of Barnsville, Ga., and Michael L. Peurifoy and his wife Robyn of Beaumont, Texas, one brother, Colbert Peurifoy and two nephews of Dallas, Texas, grandchildren Jessica Gautreau and her husband Jordy and greatgrandchildren Zoey, Madelyn, Kylie, and Savannah; Brittney Diez, and Trevor Diez of Gonzales, Beau Peurifoy, and Josh Peurifoy of Bradenton, Florida, Thomas Peurifoy of Tallahassee, Fl., and Christopher Peurifoy and greatgrandson Nicholas of Beaumont, Texas; and by the family of Chester Diez Jr., whose children, grandchildren, and extended family have brought him much joy and love in the past ten years. Also, by Diane Thompson whose love and care the past two years will always be remembered. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Violet Lillian Campbell Peurifoy, and grandson Todd Peurifoy. Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 10:00-11:00 am., with a memorial service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to The Wounded Warriors Foundation or Operation Smile.
