Jessie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He carried the values of service, dedication, and patriotism throughout his life.
He lived a well traveled life most have never even dreamed of experiencing. Growing up was the coolest to hear about his travels and of course him coming home with little gifts from each country he visited. He never met a stranger anywhere he went and he could talk to a brick wall if given the opportunity.
He found great joy in woodworking, creating with his hands and sharing his craftsmanship with those he loved. Jessie was an avid reader with a deep appreciation for history and could often be found immersed in a good book. He also enjoyed spending quiet evenings watching classic westerns on television. Above all, Jessie cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Elaine Avet Broady; his daughters, Valerie Young (Cary) and Lindsay Wine (Christopher); his brother, Gary Broady; and his five grandchildren, Jase LeJeune (Morgan), Connor McCallister-LeJeune (Wade), Alexis Wine, Walker Wine, and Baker Wine. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Louise Glass Broady.
Jessie will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering love for his family, his curiosity about the past, and the kindness he showed to those around him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories his family and friends will forever hold close to their hearts.
