

Jessie was a true outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing. He served his country in The United States Navy during World War II. Following his service he worked in radio and television broadcasting at various radio stations throughout Louisiana and Texas before retiring from WAFB-TV after 36 years. He continued working after retirement as the administrator of the LA State Radio and TV Technicians Licensing Board for several years. He was extremely proficient at diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment. Jessie had a heart for helping others and will be remembered as a true friend to many, and a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Effie and Jessie Edward Pugh; sisters, Pearl DiGuardia and Lena McFarland and one son David L. Pugh.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne’ Richardson Pugh; son, Chris E. Pugh (Rachel); brother, Clifford Pugh (Jackie); 5 grandchildren, Dave Richardson, Cameron Carlos, Chris Pugh, Jr. , Joshua Pugh, and Rebecca Pugh; one great-grand child, Stella Marie Richardson.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ascension Baptist Church on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 9:00am-11:00am. The Funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at 2:00 Pm in Springfield Carter Cemetery, Springfield, LA.
