Joe D. Mullins Jr.

Joe Del Mullins went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2026, at the age of 64, surrounded by the love he spent a lifetime giving away. Some called him Joe. Some called him Dale, to others he was Moon, and to a lucky few, he was Uncle Doc.

Joe was born on February 8, 1962, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He made his life in Gonzales, where he worked as instrumentation for 20 years — not for recognition, but because that is what a man does for the people he loves. He rose early. He came home tired. And he never once made his family feel like it was a burden.

The truest chapter of Joe's story began the day he married the woman who held his whole heart, Linda Delatte Mullins, and opened his arms to her son as his own. He didn't just become a husband that day. He became a father. Not out of duty, but out of choice and he chose that boy every single day for the rest of his life. He gave a family a life they might never have known, and he built it on something far more lasting than money: integrity, patience, faithfulness, and love you could feel from across the room. He taught right from wrong without lecturing. He showed what commitment looks like when nobody's watching. He was the steady hand when life got hard, the one who stayed when staying was the harder thing to do. That was Joe.

He had a way of making an ordinary day feel like something worth remembering — a joke he never stopped telling, a plate of food he insisted you take home, a hand on your shoulder when you needed it. He loved fishing, and he loved even more having his people close by while he did it.

Joe leaves behind his son, Fabian Paul Mullins spouse Kacy Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Destinee Dupre,Joby Mullins and step-grandchildren; Jase Fitzgerald, Jason Fitzgerald and Brayden Rusk and one great-grandchild Halsey Turner. They were his greatest joy; his brother in law Mike Litto and sister in law Pasty Litto. Along with other family members,nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends than this page can hold.

He was preceded in death by his loving Wife, Linda Mullins; His parents Joe Mullins, Sr. and Yvonne Mullins; his sisters, Brenda Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy and we take comfort knowing they welcomed him home.

A Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737, on September 14, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Ourso Funeral Home at 12:00 pm.Committal will take place at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, 604 E. Hwy 30, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737, on September 14, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
