We were saddened to learn while we were out of town of Johnny passing. Though we could not extend our sympathies and support in person over the weekend, please know that our thoughts and prayers were with you.

Johnny was an angel sent by God to my husband Jeff and I almost 28 years ago when he placed a 4 week old baby girl in my arms and we became parents. He checked on us often through the years to see how Meagan was doing and to see if she needed anything. When she turned 18 Johnny helped us again by finding Meagan's biological Mother and Father so that we could keep the promise that we had made to her so that she could find her closure.

We are just one family that he helped in his lifetime and from what I am reading he touched so many others. God truly has a special place in heaven for him. 

May God touch you all with his peace and comfort. And may Johnny have eternal rest and peace!!!  You are all in our prayers.

Our Brownsville, Texas family suffered a great loss when in the 1950s our Gutierrez family members were removed to Louisanna. While we missed them suffering a tremendous void it is heartening to know that they made such a positive impact on Gonzalez, La.  We are saddened by the loss of our cousin Johnny and at the same time elated by the memory of his life. God Bless all of our Louisiana cousins !

My condolences to the family and friends in these days of grieving for Johnny. He was a great friend and ex employer. I worked him back in 1994 as his legal Secretary for three years. He will be missed.

I always enjoyed my talks with Johnny.  Many times we found ourselves on different sides of the legal battles but it seem to only strengthen our friendship at the end of the day.  My prayers are for Johnny and his entire family. He was truly a defender of justice and he will be missed.  Rest in Peace Johnny and God bless.
