John Courtney Porteous IV

Born on December 8, 1976, in Houma, Louisiana, John was a hardworking man who built a career in the HVAC industry. He was known for his generous heart, his love of family, and his ability to make friends wherever he went.

John found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, cooking, grilling, riding motorcycles, plants, watching fireworks, gathering around bonfires, and spending time with those he loved most. His easygoing nature, sense of humor, and devotion to family will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Porteous; his children, Brodie, Bo and Brock; special friend, Jennifer Aldridge and the mother of his children, Marja Porteous; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, James Warren Porteous.

John’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories they shared with him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, from 1:00- 2:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA, 70737. Celebration of life will follow.
