

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. John Anthony Schneller on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, 11:00 am, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. The Mass will be co-celebrated by Rev. Eric Gyan and Rev. Paul Counce. Burial will immediately follow at Oaklane Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Ourso Funeral Home starting at 5:00 pm and continuing until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday morning at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church starting at 9:00 am and continuing until Mass at 11:00 am. Mr. Schneller passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016. He was 77 years old. John was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1960. He had a 25 year career with UCAR Pipeline in Belle Rose, LA as a communication/instrument tech. He retired for a brief period of time and 9 years ago he went back to work at JM Testing. He was an expert on high voltage equipment. John was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was frequently known for telling stories about his family’s accomplishments. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a Ham radio operator. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Mr. Schneller is survived by his wife, Ann Culotta Schneller; daughter, Gina Schneller Oldendorf and husband Jeffrey Wayne Oldendorf; beloved dog, Heidi Lou-Lou Schneller the Schnauzer; brother, Anthony John Schneller and wife Isabel Miller Schneller; brother-in-law, Joseph Culotta, Sr. and wife Miriam Arcoleo Culotta; grandchildren, Kacey Oldendorf Ashworth and husband Dalton Andrew Ashworth, Allyson Claire Oldendorf, Timothy Joseph Oldendorf; great-grandchildren, Olivia Louise Ashworth, Dalton Wyatt Ashworth (due March, 2016); nephews, Anthony Schneller, Jr., Joey Culotta and Mike Stacey, Eric and Madeline Schneller and nieces, Kim and Jeffrey Sager, Karen and Tracy McCord, Tonya and Gene Music and Tiffany and Stephen Browne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Philomene Schneller and in-laws, Joseph and Mary Culotta. Pallbearers will be Dalton Andrew Ashworth, Timothy Joseph Oldendorf, Jeff Sager, Eric Schneller, Joey Culotta, Anthony Schneller, Sr. and Christopher Besplas. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Culotta, Sr., Bill Handlin and Fenwick Binder. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee, St. Joseph’s Academy or Catholic High School of Baton Rouge.
