Joseph Belello

Joseph Belello, 95, of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away on June 11th, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 11th, 1930. Joe was a graduate from Catholic High and later received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from LSU.

Joe was very proud of his country and served in the United States AirForce. He also thrived as a Petroleum Engineer and was extremely dedicated to taking care of his family. He had a passion for art and painting, photography, traveling, playing guitar, LSU sports and was proud to have his private pilot license.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Belello; son, Todd Paleogos (Elizabeth); granddaughter, Kat and sister Mary Ricks.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rose and Steve Belello; brother, Guy Belello and sister Ann Denison.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Joe will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd, Zachary, LA 70791.
