

Joseph “Buddy” Dempster, age72, a native of Darrow and resident of Gonzales passed away Tuesday April 8, 2014 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was a retired mechanic supervisor for Burnside Terminal/ Ormet Corp. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visitation will resume at St. Mark Catholic Church on Friday, April 11, 2014 starting at 9 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Father Rubin Reynolds will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery. Buddy is survived by his wife, Patricia Sheets Dempster; sons and daughters-in-law, Ty and Bonnie Dempster and Troy and Leann Dempster; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Curt Parent; Chance Simoneaux, who he raised as a son; grandchildren Clay and Cohen Parent, Cade, Cain, Paisley, and Lillian Dempster; mother, Marie Agatha Dempster; brothers, TJ “Jimmy boy”, and Terry Dempster; sister and brother-in-law Cathy and Gerald Cousin and Clara D. Truxillo who was raised as a sister. He was preceded in death by his father, James Dempster, Sr. Pallbearers will be Terry Dempster, Gene Sheets, Tommy Sheets, Wayne Sheets, Dale Hidalgo, Bo McManus, Tyke McManus and Raymond Latiolais. Honorary pallbearers will be Clay Parent, Cade Dempster, Walley Walker, Chance Simoneaux. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dawn, Emma, and the St. Joseph Hospice Staff.
