Joseph "J.L." L. Gautreau

J.L. Gautreau peacefully left this earth and his family on Christmas night. A resident of Prairieville, J.L. was born on November 14, 1933. He retired from Vulcan Chemicals and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed his camp on Graveyard Island for many, many years. J.L. is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Norma Borne Gautreau; two sons and two daughters and their spouses, Keith “Wedge” and Cydney Gautreau, Danny and Nan Gautreau, Sheila and Jeff Braud, and Sharon and Ricky Cashio; seven grandchildren, Amanda Carawan, Joey Gautreau, Hannah Gautreau, Suzanne Miller, Jeremy Braud, Jared Braud, and Matthew Cashio; 13 great-grandchildren with number 14 on the way; his sister Evelyn Gautreau DiMarco; and a special friend Bill W. He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home from 8:00am to 11:30am on Monday, December 28, 2020, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at noon.
