

Josephine Modica Kamerer was born on June 16, 1916. A native of Detroit, Michigan, moved to Baton Rouge in 1969. She passed away peacefully at her home in Gonzales Saturday night, May 9th. She was 98. She was a Godly woman who really loved the Lord. All her life she attended church faithfully. She is now enjoying her Heavenly Home. "Josie" always enjoyed baking cakes and pizzas for family and friends in Village St. George. She loved children and babysat for many families in the neighborhood. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by daughters, Rose Kamerer, Ann Arnold and husband Mike; grandchildren, Justin Arnold, Lisa Arnold, Jonathan Arnold, Doug Arnold and wife Nikki, Angela Kamerer-White, Sean Kamerer-White, Frank Kamerer-White and Dominic Kamerer. Great-grandchildren, Heather Arnold, Skyler Hyland and Cooper Arnold. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Kamerer and son, Joe Kamerer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales and again on Wednesday morning at St. George Catholic Church from 10:00 am until the Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the church mausoleum.
