Joyce was born on January 25, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Vital and Frances Braud.
She was formerly married to the late Purvis Joseph Braud. Joyce was a dedicated homemaker, a role she embraced with love and pride throughout her life.
Joyce always smiled. It could calm a room, put you at ease, or quietly tell you, “Everything’s going to be alright.” And most of the time, it really was.
Joyce had a passion for gardening, bingo, and classical music—simple joys that brought her peace and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vital and Frances Braud; daughters, Karen Bagley and Kathy Braud; brothers, Eddie Braud, Robert Braud, and Gene Braud and sisters, Evelyn Carlstrum and Gloria Simoneaux.
She is survived by her loving children: daughters Linda Braud and Jan Vinci, and her son Randy Braud and his wife, Jeannette. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Alison Joffrion, Amy Joffrion, Christine Parks, Marissa Steely, Dustin Hunter, Jeremy Braud and Halie Braud.
Joyce is also survived by her brother, Gerald Braud and her sister, Shirley Mansur, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
The Braud family would like to thank the staffs at Landmark South Nursing Home and Clarity Hospice for the loving care they provided for Joyce.
