Joyce Hill Hardy, age 90, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Bayou Barbary, LA. Joyce lived a life marked by faith, family, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved. As a devout Christian, her relationship with God, her church and reading her Bible were core foundations in her life. She was a faithful and longtime member of Fundamental Baptist Church, where she nurtured her spiritual walk and cherished her church family. Joyce was known for her many talents and simple pleasures. She loved sewing, cooking, and canning vegetables from her garden. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, always making sure to read each of them her favorite book, “Susie the Squirrel,” at least once. Many sweet memories were made on her porch, where she enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with family and friends. Above all, her greatest joy came from being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother—roles she cherished deeply and lived out with grace and devotion. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Glancia Hardy; her sons and daughters-in-law, Nolan and Tammy Hardy, Dudley and Jerri Hardy, Barry and Cindy Hardy, and Michael and Tonya Hardy; her brother and sisters-in-law, Huey and Gathiel Hill and Lois Devall; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Evelyn Willie Hill; her sisters, Inez Landry, Vera McNabb, and Leatrice “Lat” Clark; her brother, Vivian “V. J.” Hill; and her great-granddaughter, Lexis Martin. The services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Fundamental Baptist Church, 24240 S. Frost Rd., Livingston, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. The burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
