Joyce Marie Naquin

A lifetime resident of Gonzales, she passed away on June 30, 2011 at Ascension Oaks. A retiree of Bellsouth Telephone Company, she was 79. Joyce enjoyed all hobbies that involved working with her hands, including carving, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She was passionate about traveling, she loved discovering her family genealogy, and she couldn’t stand to be away from her babies - her puppy dogs. She is survived by a sister, Marjorie “Patsy” Richardson and husband Gail, of Gonzales; and a brother, Joseph Alvin Naquin, of Snyder, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alma Naquin; and four brothers, James Jr., George Harold, Charles Melvin, and Paul Murphy. Visitation will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, with Father Reubin Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Richardson Family Cemetery, St. Amant.
